Hi I was wondering if anyone can help with an issue that we have witn ex2000 sp3 ? Setup is the following: Clustered solution ( 2 nodes ) both running W2k and Ex2K. We've recently applied SP3 and the latest rollup package to both nodes. All seems fine except for particular users who had "send on behalf" rights now get a NDR saying that they do not have permission to send anymore. The solution we found is to remove their rights and re-apply, this occasionally works but not all the time. (even after replication) Having read the SP3 readme notes it suggests that the toplevel permissions may have changed on clustered solutions, but does state that this would happen on individual mailboxes. I've as yet not found anything on the support kb's or even a google search that seems to answer why this happened. We have quite a number of of these type of mailboxes and im trying to prevent a flood of servicedesk queries. Has anyone seen this before / know a fix ? Many Thanks
Hi, Have you seen this? http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;327174 The permissions were corrected (made more secure) in the roll-up hotfix you applied. Hi Thanks for the response. I've seen that and we have already applied it. The issue is that users who had exisiting send as permissions, and still do in the mailbox properties, get the same error. This is regardless when they are replying to an old "prior sp3" email or when sending a new one. We created a new mailbox as a test, gave a user send as permissions and got the same issue. Would this be a replication stlye issue? I'm guessing that the permissions is classed as directory information rather than mailbox info ? (we have x4 DC's located in various places) Thanks again "Leif Pedersen [MVP]" wrote: > Hi, > > Have you seen this? > http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;327174 > > The permissions were corrected (made more secure) in the roll-up hotfix you > applied. > > Leif > > > "RP" skrev i en meddelelse > news:1FE831B3-41EC-4CD9-BEB1-0F463D21ECB1@microsoft.com... > > Hi > > > > I was wondering if anyone can help with an issue that we have witn ex2000 > > sp3 ? > > > > Setup is the following: > > > > Clustered solution ( 2 nodes ) both running W2k and Ex2K. > > > > We've recently applied SP3 and the latest rollup package to both nodes. > All > > seems fine except for particular users who had "send on behalf" rights now > > get a NDR saying that they do not have permission to send anymore. > > > > The solution we found is to remove their rights and re-apply, this > > occasionally works but not all the time. Hi, Yes, you would have to wait for DC replication to complete and then log on as the user with send as permissions on another mailbox for this to work.
