OWA 400 Bad Request when you try to view specific emails...
Our OWA2000 Clients cannot access an email we received recently. The email
is plain text, but has an http:// link. We have a test server that is
running full OWA2003 and my email account is located on this server... I
personally can open this email and view it perfectly... But everyone else on
campus still uses OWA2000 and cannot view the email. As soon as they double
click the email in OWA to bring it up, it opens the window that would
normally contain the email, but it shows "HTTP Error 400: Bad Request".

I talked with the group that sent the email and they said they do not use
HTML in their emails as they wanted everyone to be able to view it. They
said it is a straight text generated email that is created by a SQL Database,
and then sent through Outlook 2000 Client.

When I bring up the email in either Outlook or OWA2003 the link shows as a
clickable link (but that's just the application reading the http:// tag). We
think it might possibly be part of the IIS lockdown, but we're not sure.

Can anyone possibly post me in the right direction on this one? Feel free
to ask any information you might need. We're a University and this is a
email for students in regards to their teachers and classes (survey) which
asks them to visit an external site to fill out the survey. Email shows up
fine for me, and the link works perfectly fine. Only things I can think of
is its either a security setting with the server or IIS, or its something
with the setup of our network. We have 2 Front End Servers that are load
balanced, and then 4 Back End Exchange 2000 Servers (We also have 3 Clustered
2003 Servers, but only certain individuals have access for testing purposes,
i.e. myself and a few members of the IT Department).

Thanks,
Jonathan Casimir
