Exchange 2003 - Outlook 2003 Client mailboxes
Hi all

Exchange 2003 using Outlook 2003 as client
Can anyone tell me best practices for setting-up the users mailbox
on the server. Even the accepted method would help - or point me
to a MS document.

Ex linux mail guy trying to get into MS stuff

Many Thanks in advance

Just create the user, mail enable them and put them into the emptiest store.
That's it really.

RE: Exchange 2003 - Outlook 2003 Client mailboxes
Hi - thanks for the reply
I didnt explain myself properly
I was trying to connect Outlook so that a copy of the users data
is left on the server - as with IMAP
I thought this meant moving the users .pst file
to the server but if so, where shoud it be etc .....
Many Thanks again

If you configure Outlook to *open* the mailbox directly - as in, no PST
file, no POP or IMAP, all mail will remain in the mailbox. That's pretty
much it.

Do not use PST files if you can avoid it -and if you must use them for some
reason, do not try to access them across a network connection. This isn't
supported.
