Exchange 2000 Client for SQL Server Alerts
I would like to install Exchange client on my Windows 2000 Advanced Server
with SQL Server 2000. I have several databases on this server. I would like
to install Exchange client on this server to send SQL Server alerts when jobs
fail on this server.

I would like the Exchange client to route the SQL Server alerts to a group
mail box.

Does Microsoft have installation instructions to complete?
Is there a license cost for the Exchange client software?

Thank You,

Re: Exchange 2000 Client for SQL Server Alerts
For speed I normally just stick Outlook on the server. Yes, there is a
licensing issue.

Then for sending, create a distribution list in Exchange and configure the
alerts in SQL to send to the distribution list.
