We have a Exchange 2003 clustered backend server and a front end server for OWA- If a user who is set to change password at next logon tries to login, he is getting a HTTP 403 (Forbidden error) and it is not giving the option to change password. (He is trying to login using http://mail.xxxxx.com) The same user if he tries to login using http://mail.xxxxx.com/exchange he is getting the screen to change his password- I have tried the following KB articles, and also checked several things from google http://support.microsoft.com/?id=833734 and http://support.microsoft.com/?id=297121 - and I was not able to figure this one... Can some one help??? Thanks....
so, allow anonymous to connect to http://mail.xxxxxx.com and have it autoredirect to https://mail.xxxxxx.com/exchange where anonymous is not permitted. it's OWA that has the password change logic, so the root of the IIS Virtual Server doesn't have any ability to present a password change prompt.
