OWA Windows Installer Problem
Hi,

We've had a long-standing problem with the Windows Installer appearing
whilst users are using OWA (both 2000 and 2003), which prompts the user to
insert the Office 2000 CD. Since finding Q298110
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=298110) we've created a .reg file that
modifies the specified registry entires and that we can easily send out to
users. When users don't have access to the original CD, this seems to resolve
the problem. However, we have a number of users that travel around a lot,
sometimes using PCs on sites where it's not possible to insert a CD or to run
the .reg file. My questions are;

1) Does anyone know another way around this, other than asking the user to
press cancel (numerous times)?
2) Does anyone know why OWA requires files from a local installation of
Office?
3) As this problem seems widespread, does anyone know if Microsoft has any
plans to fix OWA, especially as it still seems to occur with Exchange 2003?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Pete
