Cannot receive internet email using pst file
I have a laptop using both exchange server and pop3 mail
The profile is set up to deliver all mail to the local pst file on the laptop.
The messages sent from and to users in the internal global address book work
fine, and the pop3 account sends ok, but does not receive. If I set up the
pop3
account on a workstation that uses the exchange mailbox rather than a pst
file, everything works fine... Does anyone know why this setup should not
work?? Am I missing something?

Thanks

What version of Outlook?
I don't recommend this configuration. If you care about the mail, keep it on
the server, in the mailbox and sync it to an OST file.

Mixing account types can cause myriad problems, even in OL2002/2003 in which
this is supported - it isn't supported in previous versions of Outlook.

I still recommend you not use Internet mail in Outlook, too. Let Exchange
handle it all. For remote use, use VPN (since you don't have E2003).
