Can someone answer me this question because there does not seem to be much clarity about it on the internet. I am preparing to rebuild my mail server (E2K3 SP2 on W2K3 SP2) and therefore transfer mailboxes and public folders to a temporary server. I am testing rehoming these public folders to the temp server and seem to be having mostly success except for this. After I have replicated contents and am happy that all contents are appearing in both server's Public Folder stores, I check the replication tab for that Public Folder and it shows the current server as 'in sync' and the temp server as 'Local Modified'. I then removed the current server from the 'Replicate content to these public stores' list in the replication tab, so now this folder should be rehomed and this is reflected in the public folder store of the current server, ie: that folder has gone. However the replication details still show both servers as described above. Now why is this and should I be concerned? Should I wait for the rep status to show only the rehomed server before I am safe to take down the current server? Thanks
to add to this, when i look at replication details from the temp server it says the opposite, that the temp server is 'in'sync' and the current server is 'local modified'.
