Exchange 2003...
Hi there,
I'm having an occasional glitch with my Exchange 2003 box. At random times
during the day, (not every day) Outlook 2003 clients get the message that it
is trying to connect to the server or an authentication screen pops up.
Sometimes, if they wait for a few, it will reconnect by itself, else they
have to re-boot their workstation. Some times this works, sometimes not.
If I get on the server and do an ipconfig /flushdns, then ipconfig
/registerdns, (per a MS KB) this seems to clear up the drops. I have 2 DC's
and they are both GC's. We have a good network, no routing internally... in
fact, these servers are on the same switch.
Is this a known issue and if so, is there anything I can do to fix it? We
have had this network up for a year and a half... this has just started
happening in the last month.
Any help will be appreciated.
Cheers
Craig

Re: Exchange 2003...
Is your Exchange 2003 patched to latest updates? Have you run ExBPA against
your Exchange Server lately?

Re: Exchange 2003...
Hi there, thanx for the response,
Yes, the Exchange is at SP2, the Server 2003 is at SP2 and all recent
patches. I will run the ExBPA tonight and let you know the results. I also
had some older DNS entries on the box and have removed them, may not make a
difference, but just to be safe and take that out of the equation.
I'll post my results on Friday.
Thanx again.
Cheers
