forwarding messages to a blackberry handheld
Hi all and thank you in advance,

One of my users has a blackberry perl, and up until last friday he has been
receiving emails via our exchange server (2000) using a piece of software
dl'd from the blackberry website called mail connect, apperently they have
been doing some site maintenance and now the connector doesn't forward on
the emails to the handheld. On speaking to a representative of the service
supplier they suggested adding a contact in the Active Directory for example
richblackberry with an email address for the blackberry device. Setting the
users account to forward to this contact any emails. Which works fine for
any internal emails they get forwarded but any external emails that he
receives don't get forwarded they just get refused with the system admin
message:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: E-Marketing software
Sent: 07/11/2007 00:09
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
RichardsBlackberry on 06/11/2007 23:25
There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server.
Please contact your system administrator.
<mailserver.xxxxxx.xxxxx.local #5.5.0 smtp;550 xxxx@xxxxx.co.uk>... Not
permitted

why is it trying to send to the original sender and not forward to the
blackberry address?

Hi - you have replies & an active thread in another Exchange group. In the
future, please don't multipost - if you need to post to multiple groups,
it's best to crosspost instead, by posting a single message to a handful of
relevant groups (separate the NG names with commas) so that everyone can
follow the thread. Multiposting wastes everyone's time, including yours, and
may lead to your actually getting *less* help rather than more.

Sorry about that. I originally posted in here, but after reading one of your
messages advising to post in exchange.admin group
to reach maximum number of eyes, I posted there also. It won't happen again.

See that it doesn't, or I'll be forced to release the hounds. ;-)
