SMTP Queues not moving
I have 3 different Exchange 2000 SP3 servers. The SMTP queues on all 3 have
over 300 entries. The number is growing rather than decreasing, and the
status on all of them is Retry. They say "the remote server did not respond
to a connection attempt:.

I've restarted the SMTP service on the servers, and restated the DNS server
service on my internal and external DNS servers. The DNS server the exchange
servers are using appears to be working normally - nslookups work fine.

All of the Exchange services are running on the servers and the stores are
mounted.

What could be causing the problem? Thanks

Re: SMTP Queues not moving
Are all these messages in the queues ndr 's to non existent domains from
postmaster?

Re: SMTP Queues not moving
Thanks for your reply, John. No, these were all good domains. It turned out
that our firewall was having some sort of problem and was blocking smtp
traffic.
