SMTP / HTTP Virtual Server connection and OWA - Stopped
Recently about every week or so our OWA stops functioning.
When I check the SMTP Virtual Server it has a red x across it saying stopped.
I used to be able to just restart it from there on the menu .... no problem
and OWA would start working again.
Now, it will not allow me start the SMTP VS anymore and when I did some
additional searching I found that the HTTP VS was also stopped.
I can restart that service and OWA comes back online.

I have SSL on the mail.domain.com and it is a current and valid certificate.

This is a W2K Server sp4 - Exchange 2000 sp3 machine.

I keep the updates recent and really those are the only changes happening on
this Server other than the Groupshield for Exchange Virus Protection that is
updated automatically each day.

Checked the Event Log for errors but none that relate specifically to OWA or
Virtual Servers being stopped for any reason.

tia for your input,

RH
