How to reduce IS Database Size?
We have Exchange 2000 on Windows 2003. We have some 600 Mail-Enabled users
on this only Exchange Server.

Now, the size of PRIV.EDB and PRIV.STM has combinely reached almost to 16GB.
I want to reduce the size, so as not to run into problems. What shall I do
to reduce its size?

I do not see users occupying such a big space. So, I also want to recover
the space.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,
Denis

Re: How to reduce IS Database Size?
Look through the event logs for event id 1221. This will tell you how much
empty space is in the database and approximtely how much you can reduce the
size of the database. But, 16GB is not very big for 600 users. *I* should
have such problems. Anyway, if you can reduce its size by more than 20%,
then consider running ESEUTIL /D.

Re: How to reduce IS Database Size?
Thanks for your valued reply.

But, what should I consider to overcome the limitation of 16GB of Database
size of Exchange2000?

Regards,
Denis

Upgrade to Exchange 2003 + SP to allow up to 75GB for the databases.

There is no SP to increase the E2K store size.
