Good morning, On May 10 we applied all available MS patches to our exchange 2003 server (SP1) running on Win2k3. Rebooted, and all seemed good. We had not patched since mid-December, 2005. We installed IMF about a year ago and it continues to work OK. Also running McAfee Groupshield 6 which has not changed other than DAT updates. Several days after installing the patches we began receiving reports of email from some domains not arriving, email from most domains does come through OK. These domains are not on any of the RBLs we use, nor is their IPs being blocked - we received email OK before the patch update. In testing I see that there is a connection established and our FW vendor states there is an exchange of information, but can not see inside the packet for specifics. We are running a PIX FW and checked the Mail Guard which has not changed. I'm thinking it could be the 'Security update for Exchange server 2003 SP1 (KB916803) but can't find anything on problems. We can email out OK, but senders on the outside eventually receive NDRs such as the following: The original message was received at Tue, 16 May 2006 09:49:35 -0400 (EDT) from 107-221.127-70.tampabay.res.rr.com [70.127.221.107] ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- ----- Transcript of session follows ----- 451 4.4.1 reply: read error from mail.ourdomain.org. ...
