Hi, I have colleagues who are disabling the users (with a mailbox) when the user is moving to other office. When all paper work is done, they are enabling the user. Of course this generate into event log event which is my best friend "9548". It might be impossible to change their rutines, so I have to find other workaround for this case. Even the user has been enabled I still can get the 9548 errors about the msExchMasterAccountSID. And this continues till whole day and longer. I have understood that Exchange is remembering the user settings, but I can control its memory by the registry key "Mailbox Cache Age Limit". The default is two hours. But do you know, if user is trying to polling the mailbox all the time the cache never expires ? Silly, because even DNS has TTL values :) What about if mailbox receive an email ? Does it reset the cache timer in IS ? And the last questions. What are the consequences if I'll drop the "Mailbox Cache Age Limit" value to 1 minute ? Or 15 ? Or what it the usefull number ? -- .-Petri-.
Hi, If you are using exchange 2003 there is a hotfix that will resolve the 9548 event: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903158/en-us Leif "Petri" wrote in message news:922EAE20-B039-4CA7-A45E-4A184A3D11D0@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > I have colleagues who are disabling the users (with a mailbox) when the > user > is moving to other office.
