Hi all-- I have a client that would like to track all e-mail communications to an external contact defined in AD. They want all users in the organization to have the ability to view a history of all communications to (and maybe from) external contacts. The client does not require the information from a regulatory perspective, but rather for one of visibility. Is Exchange Journaling the best / only way to go? Are there any third-party products that perform this task? Also, they are not looking at archiving, per se, but simply tracking. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bryce

Can you (and I'm going to do it) look at www.ivasoft.biz and take a look at selective journaling to see if it does anything for you. I'm not 100% sure it will but check it out. I don't think you can apply this to the AD contact but you might be able to do something with the users. You could also journal the whole store and then exmerge (by batch I suppose) the ones you want out of it and then have a 1 day mailbox management run so clear out the journal each day so that you don't clog the store or break your 75GB limit.
