Hi, We are running Exchange 2003, SP2, on a Windows 2000 SP4 server. Backup server is Windows 2000 SP4 server. Veritas version is BE 9.1 Originally, I tried to restore some mails from a user's account using the normal restore procedure which didn't work - the restore job was hanging at 99%, even though there were no errors when the backup was made. I'm now trying to use the Recovery Storage Group for this. I created a RSG following the instructions in http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/264815.htm. I then tried to restore the Mailbox Store to the RSG, but the job hangs and has to be cancelled. The error message is - Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xa0008488 - Access is denied. Restore - \\MAILSERV\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group Access denied to database Mailbox Store (MAILSERV). Error writing file data. The media operation was terminated by the user. Error writing file data. Connection to the restore target has been lost. Operation canceled. It looks to me as if Veritas is trying to restore the Mailbox Store not to the RSG, but to the live Information Store which I have not dismounted. The following document http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/253171.htm states that if a restore is attempted to an IS without it being dismounted, this is the error message you would receive. Does anyone know why this is happening? Why is Veritas attempting to restore the Mailbox Store to the live Information Store and not the RSG? Many thanks in advance. Dilan
