Legacy Exchange DN field.
Hi

My question is.
Would it be a problem if the 3rd party software created its own unique
number and populated the Legacy Exchange DN field in AD

The reason below.

We have a 3rd party program which populates AD with mail enabled contacts.
We have noticed that when you create a contact in AD using the user creation
tools, if you create a contact with the same Alias. AD or Exchange puts a
number at the end. In our example we created 2 contacts each unique apart
from the same Alias. The second one had a large number appended at the end of
the CN.

First account >legacyExchangeDN: /O=Miller Insurance
Group/OU=MILLERINS/cn=Recipients/cn=YYYJimSmith

Second account >legacyExchangeDN: /O=Miller Insurance
Group/OU=MILLERINS/cn=Recipients/cn=YYYJimSmith16048289

With the 3rd Party software this does not seem to be happening. It actually
does not fill out the field but the result is that a number is added
sequentially. Which isn't a problem until you delete an account. Then create
a new one with the same Alias. It may create a legacy Exchange DN used by a
deleted contact.

Would it be a problem if the 3rd party software created its own unique
number and populated the Legacy Exchange DN.
