Exchnage General Tab, Exchnage Features tab not visible in DC.
Hello everyone

Hope some of you may be able to help me. I have installed a Windows 2000
Server on our test lab called "CORP" and promoted to be the root of AD.
Before I installed Exchange 2000, I ran setup /forestprep and /domainprep on
CORP Server. Once this is done, I installed exchange 2000 server on the
member server called “MAIL" the installation when smoothly, Now when I open
Active directory users and computers on Corp Server (DC) I do not see the
extended features on CORP Server, eg I can not see Exchange general tab,
Exchange Features tab and e-mail address tab in user account, I can not
create e-mail account for the user on CORP Server, But When open Active
Directory user and computers under Mail Server, I can see the extended
exchange tab in the user account, I can create and delete mailbox for users.

My question is how am I add this extended exchange function to the DC “CORP”
Server? Much appreciated if someone could help me with this

First off, you really shouldn't log into DCs and manage users, you should do it
remotely from workstations with tools loaded on the workstation.

Second, in order to do Exchange admin work, you need to load the Exchange tools
on each and every machine you plan on doing that admin work from.

Re: Exchnage General Tab, Exchnage Features tab not visible in DC.
It is what I recommend to people, less chance of screwing up something on the DC
when you are doing daily work. I have always done the admin that way except in
the special case of hosting environments where you have multiple orgs and they
set up application TS machines for managing each of them.
