Is this possible, do I change something in the Configuration context? I need to make the change at least at the domain level and preferably at the Enterprise Level, as opposed to going OU by OU. Google's not bringing me anything on this. Can anyone advise if this is possible?
I dunno, just a wild guess. You have created a UPN and would like to replace it for all users in the whole forest I guess ADModify may help you. <-> glsD:eglzWg4UGHA.1688@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... > Is this possible, do I change something in the Configuration context? I need to change the default UPN suffix directly in the AD Database itself, rather then adding additional suffixes or adding UPN's to an OU. Anyone know where I can find this setting and alter it?
I am no expert in this but just for a discussion. The default UPN suffix for a user account is the DNS name of the Active Directory domain where the user account is located. In such case I don't think you can change it from the schema. You can change it, however, if you rename the domain but it's only possible if the domain functional level is Windows Server 2003. Anyway, I don't think renaming the domain is what you want. If your purpose is to provide a shorter UPN suffix for users, I think adding an additional UPN would be good enough. By only a few clicks, you can then use ADModify to make the change to all users in the domain. <-> glsD:eAQ4zpQVGHA.2704@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... >I need to change the default UPN suffix directly in the AD Database itself, >rather then adding additional suffixes or adding UPN's to an OU. I do not believe this is configurable, you will need to actually set the UPNs for the user objects. -- Joe Richards Microsoft MVP Windows Server Directory Services Author of O'Reilly Active Directory Third Edition www.joeware.net ---O'Reilly Active Directory Third Edition now available--- http://www.joeware.net/win/ad3e.htm - wrote: > Is this possible, do I change something in the Configuration context?
