Problem removing our old Exchange server
Hi,
we have two cluster nodes, one with exchange 2000 and one with exchange
2003. We have moved all users to the 2003 exchange cluster. Today we
uninstalled exchange on the old cluster node, and now when i trye to remove
the server from exchange system manager to remove it from the AD i get a
error message that says "The server "our old server name" cannot be removed
because one or more users currently use a mailbox store on this server..."
I searched the web and found some suggestions to search the AD for users who
had their mailboxes on the old server.

I did that and found 4-5 old account and a systemmailbox. I removed the
exchange attributes for this accounts and once again tryed to remove the
server in System Manager but i get the same error all the time.

What can i do??

Hi,

If you search AD for all mailboxes homed on the old cluster, delete these
mailboxes (if not needed), wait for AD replication to occur it should work.
Did you try to wait a while before uninstalling exchange again?
