Exchange 2000 in Native Windows Server 2003 domain!!!
Hi,

I'm in progress of upgrading my Windows 2000 domain to Windows 2003 and also
upgrading Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003.

Right now I have decommitted all my old Windows 2000 DCs and have 2 new
Windows 2003 DCs holding the AD. The only thing I still have to do is to
Raise Domain Functional Level to Windows 2003 Native.

My question is now - will my Exchange 2000 server still be able to
communicate with AD or should I upgrade my Exchange Servers to Exchange 2003
before I raise my domain level?

I hope someone can help me out.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

Brian

Re: Exchange 2000 in Native Windows Server 2003 domain!!!
Hi jude,

Thank you for the link - I have read it and as I understand it Exchange 2000
can run in a Windows Server 2003 Active Directory as long as the Exchange
2000 Server is installed on a Windows 2000 Server.

Best Regards

Brian

Re: Exchange 2000 in Native Windows Server 2003 domain!!!
Hi Brian,

That is exactly right. What I might suggest is to try this in a test
environment before doing it in production, just in case there is problems
that this article did not discuss.

Let me know if you need any other assistance.
