Setting up new servers
Hi all

I want to setup up 2 servers :

The 1st one will be the DNS server and will contain the Active Directory.
The 2nd one will contain exchange 2000.

As this is the first time I'll do this myself, I was wondering if this
configuration doesn't need some special settings, I mean separating the
Active Directory from the Exchange 2000, is it possible??

Thanks in advance.

Re: Setting up new servers
Hi,

Always a good idea to have Exchange installed on a member server. I am not
sure what you mean by separating active directory from Exchange.

Exchange relies on active directory to function.

Not only possible, but preferable. To be more precise, the AD Domain
Controller and the the Exchange 2000 Server should not be the same
box, if you have two to play with -- although the Exchange server
absolutely does need to be a _member_ of the AD domain, which is what
Leif was noting.
