address list question
Exchange 2003 SP2
Clients running Outlook 2003

I have created a custom address list in System Manager that include all
users in a certain AD OU.

The catch - not all of these users have Exchange mailboxes. The Exchange
server is configured to send all non-local mail to a 2nd mailbox (a
non-Exchange server). This all works fine when you type in an address from
Outlook. But when you choose the userID from the Exchange-based adress
list, I get an NDR:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
Jones, Sara on 2/17/2006 4:07 PM
The message could not be delivered because the recipient's destination email
system is unknown or invalid. Please check the address and try again, or
contact your system administrator to verify connectivity to the email system
of the recipient.
<exchange.domain.com #5.1.2>
If I type in the full address 'sjones@domain.com' it works fine (and gets
forwarded to the 2nd mail server). But something in the address book entry
doesn't work.

Any ideas?
