I have one w2k3 server with DC / GC / DNS-ADintegrated and 1 exchange(2k3) on seperate w2k3 server in four sights seperated by WAN (routed) links. All in one flat domain: mydomain.com Sites and Services configured with default settings, i.e. all in Default-First-Site Exchange: Server properties -> 'Directory Access' displays all local and remote DCs, GCs and a Configuration DC that changes from time to time which I am trying to afix to the local DC / GC. So in Sites and Services I set up four sites. w x y and z each with corresponding DC/GC configured as a Bridgeheads whilst using RPC Transport. Now for each Exchange server, "Directory Access" (using AUTO) only shows the DC GC and ConfigurationDC for the 'local' site. I understood that DSaccess would populate the list with all local and remote DCs and GCs and use the most appropriate ConfigDC based on criteria such as link cost and SRV weight & priority. Note: After configuring Sites and Services I made no changes to Exchange Servers. Question: Is the display correct? Where can I find white papers for DSaccess? -- Danny G IT
Hi, more specific info on how DSaccess work can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/guides/E2k3TechRef/efc39d47-89dc-45de-b5b4-f1e73ac30b34.mspx -- Regards, Sasa Milovanovic MCSE:Messaging sasa.milovanovic(at)exchangemaster.net "dangit" wrote in message news:061F8D15-F846-4E87-834C-5DABEB480CB8@microsoft.com... >I have one w2k3 server with DC / GC / DNS-ADintegrated and 1 exchange(2k3) > on seperate w2k3 server in four sights seperated by WAN (routed) links. > All > in one flat domain: mydomain.com > Sites and Services configured with default settings, i.e. all in > Default-First-Site > Exchange: Server properties -> 'Directory Access' displays all local and > remote DCs, GCs and a Configuration DC that changes from time to time > which I > am trying to afix to the local DC / GC. > > So in Sites and Services I set up four sites. w x y and z each with > corresponding DC/GC configured as a Bridgeheads whilst using RPC > Transport. > > Now for each Exchange server, "Directory Access" (using AUTO) only shows > the > DC GC and ConfigurationDC for the 'local' site. > > I understood that DSaccess would populate the list with all local and > remote > DCs and GCs and use the most appropriate ConfigDC based on criteria such > as > link cost and SRV weight & priority. > > Note: After configuring Sites and Services I made no changes to Exchange > Servers. > > Question: > Is the display correct? > Where can I find white papers for DSaccess? > -- > Danny G > IT
