18 months ago we installed an ADC into our AD environment but never got as far as installing Exchange 2003 so we removed the ADC then removed the disabled users it created. Recently we set up a test environment where we installed the Active Directory Connector on a machine which replicated disabled user accounts into AD. We subsequently removed the ADC and then deleted the replicated accounts. Upon reinstalling the ADC on a different machine with a different computer name we set up the same two way connections only to find that as soon as the first replication occured all the mailboxes associated with the disabled user accounts that we deleted (between the respective ADC installs) were gone. We are concerned that when we come to reinstall the ADC in our live environment we will lose all the mailboxes belonging to the disabled users that we deleted 18 months ago. Any advice on this issue would be much appreciated. Many Thanks, IT chap
We have resolved our issue. Thanks for your input Alan. We found a KB article describing how to remove the ADC-Global_Names attribute from the Exchange 5.5 mailboxes: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q319474 Cheers, IT chap
