Hi, I have one Exchange 2000 SP3 (with updates) server with about 40 users and have added a new user. It updated the Global Address List fine. Now I've gone back in a day later and added attributes like phone/fax numbers, company name, department etc but they won't update the GAL. I've selected Update Now in RUS settings but still no luck. I found KB246127 and looked in ADSIEDIT, but the KB seems to contradict itself - first it says that the uSNChanged value must be greater that the msExchServer1HighestUSN value but then goes on the say the opposite. In my case, the msExchServer1USN value is the highest. When I run RUS Update Now I get no messages in Event Viewer Application Log when I expect that I should. Any ideas what the problem is? All other users have had their details updated previously so it must be working - do I just need to wait longer? But shouldn't the Update Now do it? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance
Hi, It is not the RUS thats updating the global address list in this case. If you are using Outlook 2003 in cached mode Outlook is using the offline address book so this must be generated first (happens automaticaly each night). After this generation you must wait for Outlook to download the OAB or perform this download automatically.
