Move Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003
I currently have Windows 2000 & Exchange 2000 running in my production
environment in domain ABC.

We need to move to windows 2003 & Exchange 2003 on to new hardware without
disrupting our current production environment.

I have managed to migrate windows 2000 to Widows 2003 on a new server using
the same domain name ie. ABC on a seperate network.
I need to get exchange 2003 installed onto a new server and copy all
mailboxes to the new server. Can anyway guide me how to go about this move.

Rgds

Re: Move Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003
This sounds like a good plan.

The following TechNet resources should be very useful to you. Especially the
part about uninstalling your original Exchange 2000 server which may have
important roles such as Free busy and Recipient Update Service.

First, install the new Exchange 2003 server following these instructions, in
the deployment guide
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/guides/Ex2k3DepGuide/766a13cf-4bd6-4b9a-9b9a-d2dadb247d17.mspx

Second, move all mailboxes. Perform the moves overnight to minimize
disruption. It is good to try this with some test mailboxes first so you
have an idea of any unanticipated issues.

Follow the steps in this article that make sure all important roles have
been offloaded to the new server.

Finally, Uninstall Exchange 2000
