I have recently replaced a users Win2k Pro box with a WinXP Pro box. The users profile seemed to work fine after the first few logins. Now the user must be set as an administrator on the box for things to work. If the users is not an admin, it seems to load a corrupted profile. Icons are missing on the desktop, I am unable to open Outlook 2003. The control panel will not go into classic mode. I have deleted the profile off of the local machine, only to have the same issues occur once they log in again. I had this user log into another computer, also WinXP and new, and the exact same issues are being seen. We are using roaming profiles. Any ideas on what is going on here? Should I copy the users files and favorites from their profile and delete it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, This is an exchange server newsgroup - best to post this type of question in a XP news group. Anyhow I would save whats worth saving from his roaming profile, delete this and the profile on the workstation and then try again.
