Recipient Policy - Exchange 2003
Having a problem with my Recipient Policy, that appears to have just started.
Currently running AD 2003 in native mode, with Exchange 2003, also in native
mode.
I had a recipient policy running, that would update all users in AD, to give
them their primary SMTP address. All was working fine, until this week, when
all of a sudden, the recipient policy stopped working. I have created some
new users, and none were assigned their SMTP address.
There are no messages in Event Viewer to indicate problems of any sort.
Anyone have some ideas of what to look at??

Re: Recipient Policy - Exchange 2003
Your Recipient Update Service (RUS) is what stamps email addresses on
mailboxes. Clearly something is amiss with the RUS, which is a popular
failure point. Google for troubleshooting RUS articles - you should get
plenty of hits.

Re: Recipient Policy - Exchange 2003
Ya...I did some more searching after I posted this, and realized it was an
issue with RUS. What through me off was there was nothing to indicate a
problem in Event Viewer.
I forced a rebuild on RUS, and then some errors started appearing.
Basically, it looks like the Exchange Agent crashed, which is why RUS wasn't
working. Starting and stopping the Exchange services fixed the
problem....but I restarted the server later on, just to be sure.
Things look to be fine now. Thanks for the response.
