I just installed a new exchange 2003 server and I am setting up OWA. Inside my network on a computer logged onto the network. If I type in the address of my exchange server http://mail/exchange ... I am taken right into OWA without being prompted for a user name/ password. The email box that comes up is the person that is logged into that comptuer. If I type in the IP address of the server...IE: http://10.2.0.50/exchange ...then I am prompted for a user name / password. I am looking to be able to to post a link on our intranet and have anyone be able to check their mail from any comptuer using OWA. I would like to be able to use the server name instead of it's IP. Anyone have any thoughts why this is happening and how to fix it?
Hi, In exchange system manager, find the server, protocols, HTTP, Exchange virtuel server and Exchange. Get properties of Exchange, click the Access tab, click the authentication button, clear the integrated windows logon and check the basic authentication.
