Problems creating a new Recipient Update Services
Hi all

I seem to be facing some difficulty with my Exchange 2000 site. I am trying
to create a RUS between my Domain and one of my front end exchange services.
Upon finalizing this agreement I came across the following error.

The server is not operational
Facility: Win32
ID no:8007203a
Exchange Services Manager

This had me stumped for a while, but behind this error I noticed that the
domain controller chosen to finalise the agreement was a member server and
not a domain controller. This has left me completely confused. It should
look for a domain controller to represent the domain and not a member server.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get RUS to authenticate against a
working DC?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

Bhavesh

RE: Problems creating a new Recipient Update Services
Hi

just an update on this problem,

With the help of PPS we checked the why a memeber server is being referenced
as a DC using ADSI edit.

Within ADSI edit goto Domain and the OU your server is in. Select the
server in question and right click, selecting properties. find the entry
service principle name. Compare this entry to another exchange server.
Always back up before removing any entries which don't match

will let you know after replication if this was successful

Best Regards
