load generator tool for installing on windows server 2008
Hi,

I have installed domain controller and exchange server enterprise 2007 +SP 1
on windows 2008 enterprise 64-bit OS.
I have downloaded the load generator from
"http://www.download.com/Exchange-Load-Generator-64-bit-/3000-2408_4-10735421.html".
When I try to install, it shows a pop up message that it can only be
installed on windows xp , 2k3 SP2 and R2.
But the document from the link
"http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=C7534CB2-4234-41F1-B0B2-ED9F376B4CB2&displaylang=en
" shows windows 2008 as one of the requirements.
Can anyone help me getting the download link for the latest load generator
tool that can be installed on windows 2008.

Thanks...........

Re: load generator tool for installing on windows server 2008
There may be some programs that you need to install first like powershell
etc maybe? I did not look through the pre-requists.

Re: load generator tool for installing on windows server 2008
Just installed Load Gen on my PC here, although its windows XP. I think the
part that it's failing on is the remote Load Gen service. If you look in the
install directory for Load GEn is there a log file called LoadGenRem with a
date suffix on the end?

If so open that and see what it says.

If it is the remote service that has not installed correctly then you may be
in luck and the overall program will work correctly.

Have you tried to run the program after the install?

Re: load generator tool for installing on windows server 2008
Hi,

I tried to install load generator on windows 2003 and windows xp too.
But still i am getting the same error.
So it looks like there is something wrong with the package itself.

Thanks

Re: load generator tool for installing on windows server 2008
I'm also having this issue: 'Microsoft Exchange Load Generator -- Error
1722'. I 'm attempting to use this LoadGen 32-bit version as a client using
Windows 2008 Sp1 (32bit) Enterprise with Exchange 2007 Sp1. The firewall is
OFF, and MSMQ is STARTED. The target Exchange server is running W2K3 Sp2
Enterprise and Exchange 2003 Sp2.

It appears the installation is having problems installing the LoadGenRemote.
Is there instructions for doing this manually?
