Groupwise migration wizard
I've been attempting to migrate data from Groupwise 6.5. I have set up a
dedicated Server 2003 machine with the Novell client (4.9 SP2) and the
Groupwise client installed. Each time the wizard runs it completes but we
have the following issues:

- The gw5mig.exe logs an application fault in the event log. The details
are pasted in below.
- Mail items come across fine but no calendar events are properly translated

Has anyone run across this before? My understanding is the migration wizard
is supposed to convert calendar items properly and suspect the application
fault is where the conversion is occurring? Suggestions? Event log data is:

Type: Error
User: N/A
Source: Application Error
Category: (100)
Event ID: 1000
Faulting application gw5mig.exe, version 6.5.6944.0, faulting module
unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

Re: Groupwise migration wizard
Hi,

The GroupWise migration wizard can't convert the calendar items directly to
the calendar. These should come across as an email attached file (.sc2).

Do you get this email?

Re: Groupwise migration wizard
Yes, the SC2 file did come across this time. I have instances where it has
not but it appears to be coming across now despite the fault. Should it just
be ignored? How do we know it isn't causing some other issue with the 300
groupwise accounts were migrating?

Re: Groupwise migration wizard
I had problems with the 6.5.x clients. I am using the 5.2.5 client and it
works perfectly.

Re: Groupwise migration wizard
We have been running tests with the 5.5 client and it seems to be working ok.
We had to install the windows messaging separately. The default profile had
to be the Groupwise settings, which also contributes to the fault error.

Once we installed the windows messaging, 5.5 client, and set the profile
correctly we seem to have things working.

Thanks for the tip...
