RE: Migrating email to server
Yep...you can use ExMerge, which works good for transferring PST files, into
the mailbox store.
I used ExMerge for an Active Directory Migration that included a new
Exchange server, and it worked great.
One thing to remember....your PST files, should match the user names
attached to the mailbox. For example:
2 PST files for 2 different people - John Doe & Tom Smith. Probably their
usernames in Active Directory (I assume you are using this??) or Exchange, is
jdoe & tsmith.
Rename the PST file from each person to jdoe.pst & tsmith.pst. When you do
the ExMerge, and select the usernames from the list, you just point to the
storage location of the PST files...Exmerge will automatically import
jdoe.pst to the jdoe username, and tsmith.pst to the tsmith username.
With ExMerge, you can either do one person at a time, or a group of people.
It just runs until it is finished importing. You can also decide how much of
the email you want to import in...i.e. one years worth, etc.
