Microsoft Newsfeed subscription?
Hello everyone,

Just a quick question. Is it possible to subscribe to Microsoft newsfeed
(msnews.microsoft.com) via Exchange 2003 in order to exchange posts in the
newsgroups?

If not possible to exchange posts, download would be sufficient.

Thanking you in advance,

GAZ

Re: Microsoft Newsfeed subscription?
Ok - here's the deal on newsgroups via Exchange 2003.

If you want to subscribe to the MS newsgroups, you *cannot* point to
msnews.microsoft.com as the nntp server. Microsoft does not allow pull
feeds, except to certain designated nntp servers. What you can do, however,
is find out if your ISP has an NNTP server that gets those groups, and if
they will allow you to point to them as the pull server.

Really, though, you'll be much better off simply using a nntp client (such
as Outlook Express) to read newsgroups.

Re: Microsoft Newsfeed subscription?
Thanks for the answer. Figured as much.

The only problem is that we have a number of people in the company (almost
all) who have a need to read MS newsgroups.

Will try to sort something out with the ISP.

Thanks,

GAZ
