export exchange 5.5 public folders in a csv file
Hey Guys

Is there anyway to export a list of all the public folders that are on an
exchange 5.5 server??

Thanks!

You could do a directory export in the exchange administrator program.

Since every PF in EX5.5 is mail enabled you should get a list of all the
PF's.
But when you do it, don't forget to select that hidden recipients should
also be exported, since PF's are
by default hidden from the addressbook...

Re: export exchange 5.5 public folders in a csv file
Ok, sorry should have been more detailed. I am trying to do a comparison of
public folders. It looks like some have been replicated to an exchange 2000
box we have running, but there are so many that to go through all of them
would take forever.

So I am trying to get just a list of what we have on our 5.5 box and run a
comparison of the exported list I have from our 2000 box. The directory
export from the exchange admin seems to pull that information from the GAL so
that would include everything from both servers.

Thanks,

Mike

Re: export exchange 5.5 public folders in a csv file
This will not include system objects

Why dont you replicate all the folders to the new server and then disable
replication on the 5.5 server.

Re: export exchange 5.5 public folders in a csv file
Ok, I see... :-)

You should be able to export a list in EX5.5 Admin. If I remember
correctly... :-)

In EX5.5 Admin navigate to the server object where you want to get the list
of.
Expand the Public Folder Store. There should be a node where you can see all
the replicas which are on the server. Actually I can't remember the name of
the node...

In the menu there should be an entry to export a list. This will give you a
csv listing
of the screen...

Hope this helps! And sorry for the vague description - it's a little while
since I was
working with EX5.5 Admin... :-)

Re: export exchange 5.5 public folders in a csv file
Yeah. Actually we decided on adding a 2003 exchange box and using pfmigrate
and force everything over to the 2003 server. Thats where I was heading
anyway but I think everyone knows the game called pollitics!

Thanks guys!
