Exprofre.exe question from Nt 4.0/5.5 Exchange to new 2003 Exchang
I have a question if anyone can help me out on exprofre.exe.

I have used this tool before and had great success. The company I am
working for now is half way through an Exchange 2003 migration and they are
using NetIQ domain and Exchange migrator. Used this before as well as Quest
but never in a situation where coming from Exchange 5.5, Windows NT domain to
Exchange 2003, AD 2003 environment across different Exchange organizations.
When attempting to run exprofre.exe it wants a GC in the source domain.

Does anyone know of any easy way to make it work when the source domain is
not a W2K domain or higher? Thanks any help is appreciated, tried pointing
it to the Exchange server but that doesn't work.

Re: Exprofre.exe question from Nt 4.0/5.5 Exchange to new 2003 Exchang
I also used the tool in the past to migrate from NT4/5.5 to 2003/2003. But I
never saw an issue
where exprofre required a GC in the old Domain.

What you need is:

-A GC in the Target Domain
-Every recipient must have its "old" X.500 address added as an additional
mail-address(I'm not familiar with the NetIQ Tool, but
I think it should do this, even the free tool from MS does this...)

If I correctly remember, thats it.

Re: Exprofre.exe question from Nt 4.0/5.5 Exchange to new 2003 Exchang
I ran into this myself. I used a tool from Priasoft that not only did
the job by gave us real time status reports on progress. Check it out
