Recieving critical attachments
I have an attachment issue for a client of mine. They must recieve a payroll
file in .pdf format weekly from the same e-mail address. This is an SBS 2003
with Exchange 2003 S
P3 set up. The e-mails are getting bounced back to the originator without
the attachments being separated into the default attachment folder I set up
for evaluation and viral testing. Is their a way I can define the e-mail
address, ISP hosting address of originator or the attachment itself to let
it through. I am also running Intelligent Message Filtering set to 8. We had
a bout with significant spam not long ago and this helped resolve it. Thanks
in advance.

SMTP email isn't a guaranteed form of delivery, so there's your first
problem.
IMF set to 8 shoudn't be an issue, it's pretty lax and I bet you still
get a fair bit of spam through.
What do you mean " bounced back " That's usually a phrase for if the
mail didn't get to the right place. And what's this about you
expecting an attachment to be be separated? Exchange wouldn't do this
so I'm thinking you have something else in the mix here?

With what message?

I don't know how you would have this set up anyway. If the message bounced,
you don't have anything, including the attachment.

Not in IMF.

In message tracking, if you had it enabled (with subject line logging), you
could see what happened to the message.
You can't whitelist anything in the IMF.

You do know email is not innately secure, right? I mention this only because
you're discussing payroll info here.
