If I run an ExMerge on a mailbox that is 4GB, will the utility create a 4GB PST file or will it create multiple PST files that are under 2GB. I am aware of the 2GB PST limit and don't want the ExMerge to create anything over 2GB. Or is there a way for the ExMerge to be configured to allow a PST to get to a certain size and then it will start a new one.
No and No. No. Exmerge cant even comprehend a PST over 2 GB. As a workaround, I might suggest you export the mailbox using Outlook 2003 which can support a 32 GB mailbox. Of course you will have to import it back in with Outlook 2003. An export of the box with Exmerge might work, even if the PST is over 2GB. The import might need to be accomplished with Outlook 2003. I'll see if I can find my notes on this. At one point during an audit I had to ship PST files that were over 2GB to the lawyers and auditors. I think we may have used Exmerge for the export, and used Outlook 2003 to read the PST files. I can't remember exactly. Or, export the mailbox and use a date range criteria exporting the older stuff to one PST and the newer stuff to another. -- Jim McBee Blog: http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com Web: http://www.somorita.com "Martin Blackstone - MVP" wrote in message news:Oh7bq0fTGHA.5552@TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... > No and No. No. > > Exmerge cant even comprehend a PST over 2 GB. > As a workaround, I might suggest you export the mailbox using Outlook 2003 > which can support a 32 GB mailbox.
