Hi folks, Today we released our final XML update for ExBPA v2.5; I've detailed the improvements below. In early April we will release ExBPA v2.6 which includes some cool reporting enhancements. We will deliver the U.S. English version first, then follow up in June with a localized release. The next time you start ExBPA v2.5, it'll prompt you to download rules version 2.11.2.0. For customers who perform manual updates through the Web Update Pack (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=34290), the new version will be live at the end of this week. Improvements and changes since 2.10.0.1 Flattened hierarchy in the Detailed View makes for easier viewing Removed unnecessary noise in the 'Run Time Log' so that it's easier to spot problems Best practice recommendations for using StorPort instead of SCSI Miniport drivers Warns if a StorPort-compatible driver is loaded and the latest StorPort.sys driver isn't present Warns if any disk or network drivers are over two years old Warns if the ClassPNP.sys driver version conflicts with HP SecurePath Support for Trend ScanMail 7.0 Analysis and recommendation of 'NeverPing' for topologies that require this setting OWA regional character set configuration analysis Increased DC/GC ping time outs to 2 seconds (instead of 1 second) Reports time skew between ADC/Exchange server and domain controller and fires an error if it is >300 seconds Identifies organizations that are DMS-enabled Identifies organizations that have linkstate user version changes suppressed Warns if the domain controller in use by RUS is down or inaccessible Warns if the MSDTC resource is missing in a cluster Warns if either the MSDTC or MTA resources are configured to 'Affect the group' in a cluster Warns if the Host (A) record is missing from DNS for an Exchange server or cluster name Provides guidance on setting JET buffers (msExchESEParamLogBuffers) on Exchange 2003 servers (local and replicated storage) Identifies SMTP virtual servers that have domain re-writing enabled Full transport event sink checking (scoped server runs only): Identifies non-standard transport event sinks Identifies standard transport event sinks that appear to be missing from the metabase Identifies bad COM registration information for transport event sinks Identifies cases where the hosting DLL for a transport event sink is missing on disk Correct scanning of both active and passive nodes in an Exchange 2000 cluster Warns if Antigen 8.0 SR3 is installed and DoNotScanIPMReplicationMessages is not set Identifies the installation of the ISA Firewall Client on Exchange servers Checks NonDefault settings more than thirty additional transport and DSAccess registry parameters When you download the update, you may notice that we have a new XML file: ExBPA.Transport.xml - this is where the metabase checks live. The ExBPA.Config.xml file merges the 'child' XML(s) at run-time. In v2.6 and beyond, you'll notice other XML files joining the mix. "Warns if Antigen 8.0 SR3 is installed and DoNotScanIPMReplicationMessages is not set" I can't seem to find a reference to that particular registry setting. Do you have a link that describes this ?
