Sender Filter
We use the sender filter in Message Delivery properties to block (archive)
messages with a blank sender. How do I specify a location for the ..\filter
folder (where the messages drop into)? I would like to move this to another
drive.
Thanks.

Re: Sender Filter
I knew this was possible, but I had forgotten how to do it. I had to do
some testing, but I found if I move the \Queue directory and the \Badmail
directory over to another location, the \Filter location goes with them.
For example, I moved them to D:\SMTP\VSI 1\Queue and D:\SMTP\VSI 1\Badmail.
Once the changes have replicated in AD and to the metabase, the next time a
filtered message comes in, the D:\SMTP\VSI 1\Filter directory is created and
the filtered message is placed there.

Re: Sender Filter
If we are talking about an Exchange 2003 server, the filtering option
would be checked and the message would be dropped on the wire itself,
it wouldn't come into Exchange at all. However if its Exchange 2000,
then the mail will be sent to the badmail folder.

Re: Sender Filter
Thank you very much. That explains two things, why I couldn't remember
moving it on an older server, and why it has not yet shown up.
Cheers,
Paul
