ExBPA Reports
Hello,

I have MOM 2005 with the ExBPA MP and tool running on each Exchange 2003
server.

The tool creates a report daily in the
c:\programfiles\exbpa\exchange.server.data xml file, correct?

And if there is anything in that report we should know about, it raises an
alert in MOM 2005 operation console?

I'm only asking because I do not see any alerts except for the following in
the MOM 2005 Ops Console:

Name: Error running ExBPA Org run with exit code 9
Severity: Error
Resolution State: Resolved
Time of First Event: 2/20/2006 11:10:01 PM
Time of Last Event: 2/20/2006 11:10:01 PM
Alert latency: 0 sec
Problem State: Investigate
Repeat Count: 0
Age: 2 hours, 20 min, 0 sec
Source: ExBPA Execution
Alert Id:
Rule (enabled): Microsoft Exchange Server Best Practices Analyzer Tool\ExBPA
Org rules\Daily ExBPA run (Organization)

Re: ExBPA Reports
Hi there,

Yes, the MOM agent runs a script which executes the command-line version of
ExBPA (i.e. ExBPACmd). This is run with the -p Events:Enable switch which
cause any Errors/Warnings to be created in the Application Log. Therefore,
the output XML is just for your reference - all the data that MOM needs from
ExBPA will have been sent to the event log.

However, from the error below, it appears that the MOM agent isn't able to
execute the Org run. Exit code 9 means 'Path not found' (see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/wmisdk/wmi/create_method_in_class_win32_process.asp
for a listing of all the errors). The script is hard-coded to execute ExBPA
from \Program Files\ExBPA so you should double-check this. Also, ExBPA needs
to be installed on the MOM management server.

Cheers,
