Exchange backup
Hi,

Does Win2008 backup handle Exchange? Or one needs to buy backup apps from
Symantec, etc.? - but those are rather expensive.

Thanks,
Boris

Re: Exchange backup
No it does not.
You need a 3rd party backup solution.

YOU CAN backup Exchange using Windows 2008. Refer to the docs.

Actually, you mean you *will* at some point be able to.
Given the lack of complete functionality in this, I would still
recommend a 3rd party backup solution.

RE: Exchange backup
Boris, Symantec NetBackup agent 6.5.2 support Exchange 2007 on Windows 08.
Also Microsoft is working on an exchange aware agent for the native backup
tool in 2008 server. Either go with a third party or be patient. You may also
be able to script something yourself that can access the VSS writers but
would not be a support configuration for Microsoft. Good Luck
