Exchange 2007 EMC bug - uPNSuffixes
To All,

I’d like to post a possible Exchange 2007 EMC bug that I have noticed.
This is in regards to the creation of a new mail enabled user. Using the
wizard you select “user mailbox” and then select “new user”. We have set the
“uPNSuffixes” attribute on OU objects for the use of additional uPNSuffixes.
The reason we have set them at the OU object level is to restrict its use
globally (UPN) when provisioning user objects outside of certain OUs. I’ve
noticed that with the Exchange 2007 EMC when you browse to the location of an
OU where an attribute is set with additional uPNSuffixes; the EMC does not
read the uPNSuffixes attribute from the OU and does not seem to honor the
population of that attribute on the OU object. The Exchange 2007 EMC seems
to only want to read additional upn suffixes when they have been add via
“Active Directory Domains and Trusts”. Is there or are there any plans to
fix this functionality? If this is not the correct forum to post i apologize
in advance.

Regards,

Nick

Re: Exchange 2007 EMC bug - uPNSuffixes
Exchange does not read UPN suffixes from OUs. If you need to create
recipients with an OU-specific UPN suffix, you can create the user account
in ADUC (which lets you use these suffixes) and then use EMC/EMS to
mailbox-enable the account. (Works with accounts that have UPN-specific
suffixes).

The above should be OU-specific UPN suffixes...
