Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant - Database Recovery Management
I have a specific question about the Reset Log tool in the Database Recovery
Management portion of the Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant.

Prior to moving the logs, does the tool do a consistancy check on the
databases to make sure they were shut down properly? The tool only states
that it has succesfully moved the files, no mention of any type of
consistancy checking.

Is any type of logging created when this tool is run, and if so, where is it
kept?

Thanks.

RE: Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant - Database Recovery Management
It is possible the Reset Log Tool does do a consistancy check.

On our test server, it ran very quickly, but on our production server, which
had about 200 Gig of Databases, it ran for about 30 minutes. Guessing the
additional time was for the database check.

Microsoft may want to enhance this utility with logs and better notifications.
