Connectivity to Exchange Server
I have a new installation of SBS 2003. Everything seemed to install normally
but I have several issues.

1. I have had to post to this group from another computer because I can't
get to the newsgroups from the server's IE. Microsoft requires Java to sign
in, Java requires an ActiveX control to download and IE won't allow it.
Can't find any way to allow it.

2. I cannot ping my server or connect to exchange with Outlook. I can log
in to Exchange via a web browser using the server's IP or DNS name from
inside or outside the LAN.

I would have thought that the ability to connect to Exchange with Outlook
would have come right out of the box with little or no configuration changes
needed on a new SBS installation.

Can anybody help?

This isn't an exchange issue and would be better posted to
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs, but I'd uninstall the Internet Explorer
Enhanced Security cr*p from add/remove programs | windows components. That
said, I would also suggest that you a) use a newsreader client & NNTP
instead of the web interface and b) don't use the server as a workstation.

I suggest you post this in the SBS group (mentioned above) for the most
help, as this is a network issue & not an Exchange one. Include an unedited
ipconfig /all from your workstation & the server & also mention how you set
up your server.

Yes, it should - if you installed SBS using all of its wizards & the to-do
list, and set up the users, computers & workstation using the wizards, then
it should.
