I know this has to be something simple but I've looked at this until I can't see straight! I'm getting ready to migrate to a new Exchange server. I have 2 servers up and running. I have created a test account and successfully moved the mailbox to the new server. I can acces the mailbox both with outlook and remotely via OWA. I can email the test account from an account on the old server but I cannot email from the test account to an account on the old server. The messages just hang in the smtp queue to the old server. There is one variance to the existing server that might be complicating things. There is a spam filter program that monitors port 25 so the old Exchange server is using port 2500 for smtp. The new server is configured to use prot 25 which seems to be working because it is receiving mail (both internal and external). The mailbox on the new server cannot send external mail either due to a relay problem but I will tackle that problem after I get the internal mail working. I hope someone knows what the problem might be or how to approach debugging this issue. Thanks Chuck
