Implementing a new Exchange 2003 Server
Hello:
I'm in the process of implementing a new Exchange 2003 server to a network
that contains Exchange 2000 Servers currently.
The MAIN server (the server that port 25 is directed to) will remain
untouched. The 2003 server i am speaking of is being implemented at a branch
office.
After the forestprep/domainprep, I expect to install the 2003 Server as
usual. I've read the documentation on moving public folders, etc.
My main question is: Once the server is up and running, and Exchange is
fully installed, I will be moving the mailboxes. Does Exchange 'know' to
route new e-mails to the new server, after I move the mailboxes I want to
make sure that the users experience no downtime, with the exception of when
their particular mailbox is being moved.
From my understanding, I can move the mailboxes, and both Exchange, and the
Outlook client are aware of the change automatically. Am I right?
Thank you
