Can view http://server/oma but phone can't sync?
Hello,
I'm trying to get my Tytn2 running windows mobile 6 to sync with my
exchange. If I point my mobile internet exporer to http://82.xxx.xxx.xxx/oma
it gets in ok for IE based email. http://82.xxx.xxx.xxx/owa also
works.

I only have an IP address, is that a problem? What do I enter for the
server address on my mobile, I've tried:

    82.xxx.xxx.xxx
    82.xxx.xxx.xxx/oma

neither works.

I can't find any error logging on my phone, although I've set error
logging to Verbose.

What do you think?

Thanks

IIRC you can't activesync to an IP address. It's a client thing, not
an Exchange thing.

Hi,
Thanks for replying.

I've made a proper name for my IP address but it still doesn't work.
It just says error synchronising. Is there a log somewhere?

Could it be because the certificate on the my server was issued by my
server using localhost/certsrv?

Any ideas?

Thanks

That could play a large part in it.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Windows+Mobile+and+Self+signed+cert

Honestly, this is just one more reason self signed certs just are not worth
the time anymore. Especially when you can buy then for a relatively small
amount of cash. They don't cost $600 like they used too (unless you buy them
from VeriSign)

We use Thwate certs for our WM users since they just work. Always.

Hi,
Well I've got a trial certificate from Thwate but when I go to
https://myaddress/oma on my phone it says the certificate is valid but
I haven't chosen to trust it. How do I choose to trust Thwate?

Thanks,
